Jules
Characterization is important, it's all depends on the writers on how they able to add layers of attitudes in them, from their costumes, their lines, their swagger = all of this small elements add up and presented to us. Tarantino knows how to flesh all of this to each one of his characters - so good. Jules Winnfield, the funky afro assassin, who took his job well enough, decides to resign from his profession after he experienced a divine intervention ( where someone shot him and Jules point blank - but all the bullets went pass thru them ). The course and events later during the day strengthen his decision.
