Aliens

The world of pop culture changed forever when Ridley Scott combine horror, claustrophobia, isolation and space with his seminal 1979 Alien. The horror genre immersion was amplified with our gonzo grizzly TV coupled with the low VHS resolution.

apparently 4K took all this magic and sentiments away.

How to top an original scream in space fest?

Bring in a former truck driver ( who attended night class to learn film ), goes by the name of James Cameron, who knows how to draw - kicking in and at the same time putting the franchise unto a higher echelon.

Neca knows how to take my money.

We got Aliens.

Throw in a bunch of Colonial Marines, a kid and a Power Loader unto LV426, we got an instant re-watchable classic. A film that made my dad glued to the TV screen right to the ending credits, this macho film led by a powerful female lead contain so many memorable corn bread.

Seriously speaking, being a pop culture fan here in Malaysia is not easy, as toys and merchandising is hard to get and yes.....it's not cheap. For years, images of the classic colonial machinery and legendary weapons lay quietly in my subconscious and just one day - I decide to sacrifice many night to  immortalize Aliens in a damn Lego format.

The whole set took me around 5 years to complete it. As usual, i dismantled few playsets as these bad boys require massive number of bricks. A process consists of miserable sickness, fun and joy. Tons of trial and error, sleepless night and endless tinkering, thanks to hi-res photos as reference, all these beautiful plastics of Lego pieces turned into the elusive form.

will find one day to exhibit all these bad boys.

Let's rock!

The classic M41-A Pulse Rifle

The Motion Tracker, RIP Bill Paxton.

20th Century Fox milked and butchered the properties high and dry until it turned unwatchable and debatable. It has divided fans into so many places, as future sequels gave us so many polarizing factors, so there is no surprise, the studio will try its luck again by getting a new director and Ridley Scott back again with Romulus.

p/s - bear in mind that 20th Century Fox ( who also owns a respectable monsters properties incl the Predator ) now belongs to Mickey Mouse. Disney apparently like to inject a flurry of questionable writers demeaning their own classic collection with their endless live action remakes.

Go woke - you go broke!
