finally got my hands on 130 issues of the infamous Eaglemoss Delorean. Apparently all the rumors and ( not ) so positive remarks for this 1/8 scale model is so true. Not for the faint hearted, this model seriously testing my limits firstly with their multiple tiny ( AP/DM/IP and whatever) screws and their ridiculous building technique.
Eaglemoss rounded up all those sick, selfish, not so ergonomic, Autocad, product designers to create one living hell for the builders. With mismatched parts and building instructions in their packaging, they created an unusual hell and sleepless nights for the subscribers. Imagine not knowing they going to fold halfway.

| journey begin with a broken steering rack. I have to scout the replacement for weeks |
 |
| 10 issues of building the engine and we have to store it away... |
 |
| oh the many joy of missing pieces |
not to forget, missing several issues resulting in leaving me and the builders high and dry for months. Eventually scouring the issues in the secondary market.
The idiotic designers placed all the electronics and wires, worst powered by Triple A batteries in the worst part of the areas, the the on/off button is under the car, so you practically need to lift the car to switch it on. Mind you the Delorean is already heavy and requires some digging to get to the button.
 |
| the many joy of dealing with wires. An issue showing me wire colors while the rest showing me wire numbers. Took me hours to figure out. |
 |
| testing the connections...( for the second time ) |
 |
| right after mounting it for the third time, voila the electronics doesnt work........ |
 |
| the battery box, smacked right at the bottom. |
With unstable useless small door hinges ( in which making the door wobbly ), you have to open it to access the electronic to the 1-6 buttons. So with this, my patience went to 1985, i decided to scratch the whole standard electronic mechanics.
 |
| pure joy in ripping off the battery box and all the wirings. |
At times i wonder why certain parts need to be in hard rubber, in stainless steel or vice versa. Certain parts are so fragile like the Faraday conduits - mine broken easily ( or maybe its the marketing teams decided to build intentionally so people can purchase more repetitive issues ).
 |
| in the film, the DeLorean lights minimally.... |
all those flimsy wires and fragile LED's thrown away, I change it into USB type and able to switch it on and off using a damn remote.
good riddance 1-6 buttons.
 |
| after revamping all the LED and wirings |
any advice for people who wants this?
this is an old ( expired ) model, i recently got my hands on all the 130 issues after years of storing it away.
if you say YES - i suggest you directly purchase the assembled ones. Will save you all the freaking headache. The problem about the assembled ones, you don't know what is missing, loose and worst not knowing what to do if a screw suddenly appeared in front of you or the best the freaking electronics is not working.
Any options besides this?
just go and get the Hot Toys version, a lil bit bigger, its plastic all the way, cheaper and its plug and play.
and yes fuck you Eaglemoss.
