Culture Of Poverty
A concept in social theory that asserts that the values of people experiencing poverty play a significant role in perpetuating their impoverished condition, sustaining a cycle of poverty across generations.
Perpetuating = make (something) continue indefinitely.
The Tidak Apa Attitude
so when a group of urban poor families who experienced hardship for 15 - 20 years, their mental and habits will ( persist ) continue to the next generation - unless one of the kids married off to a better family ( social or economic background ).
or if you are lucky, your parents battled out for 20 years to finance your studies so you can break the vicious cycle and go somewhere. From there you slowly upgrade to another level.
explanations of poverty must analyze how structural factors ( education/ economic / behavioral ) complementing with social and physical condition of an individual characteristics.
