Meet Barry

Investing your time in a mini-series ( now binge watching ) can be detrimental or beneficial, added couple of some values and layers to one perception and acceptance of how a story to be told, presented visually, ultimately leads to a some sort of cathartic outcome.

Netflix's Narcos doesnt fail me
Breaking Bad doesnt fail me
The Shield doesn't fail me.

I realized and concluded that the TV series above that doesn't fail me contained enough stimulus to keep me watching, guessing and yes hoping before they pull the curtain down, made me go berserk thinking what i should do next. The journey of searching something better, an elusive oh yet frustrating process of curating images and narratives in my mind.

When the cast and story line stretched far and wide leading to further seasons, all the probable essence and formula that made things work dissipated to thin air. The whole structure composing the narrative molecular structure torn apart and finally exploded unto a mess.

An 1 hour will elongated to 2 or even 3 hours.

Then.............Barry came along. Shorter, smarter and and mind you, deadly smart, intelligent firework that blows you away. Whatever expectations you have in your mind is thrown out from the window, spit upon. Like a 40 ton trailer hit you - 30 minutes of Barry felt like you had a brilliant wholesome brunch + dinner and chocolate ice cream for desert. Fuck!!!!

The two season produced by HBO is fucking consistent, excuse me if i kept typing expletives in this - but bloody hell - its fucking GOODDDDDD......everyone got a chance to shine, well except his bitch girlfriend.

a burned out hitman, who stumbled upon ACTING as a new vocation, he proceed with unimaginable lessons and scenarios in order to find his real self while all people surrounded him thought its a fucking ACT.

imagine the frustration when you are trying to be honest and people told you that its a great acting. So that can be pretty bewildering.

The quest of being Normal and be HUMAN. But, mind you, Barry's journey is not about finding monsters, he tried to normalize the flawed monster in him, denying yet at the same time accepting notions of "its ok"......

In Season 2, Episode 5, a stand alone episode, Barry forced to assassinate a Karate Olympic medallist and his feral daughter, having manipulative FUSCHES as his mentor/surrogate father - having his hands glued on the steering wheel, dealing with NO HO Hank and Asian warlords, the fucking FONZ and Bolivians led by Tony Robbins wannabe - all these are incredible set pieces, out of the world set-ups played by actors that you cant imagine - mixed together, served courageously and daringly.

You simply cant read where the episode goes next.

This is Bill Hader and his creative team, you are fucking AWESOME.
