Prologue

This question takes 2 cups of teh tarik and yes occasionally sound effect in a friendly neighborhood mamak stall. We know that there are so many whiny Star Wars self confessed "fans" who are annoyed with it as all their speculations are thrown out from the window.

But with 2 hours and 30 mins....i was entertained. How i wish i can remind them that they should go watch again those awful prequels....i seriously hated Attack of the Clones and nearly slept in Episode 1 rather than immersed what's in the screen.

Rather than Maul and Qui Gon sabre fight - I got a senate hearing!

Disney observed that Lucas didnt do anything with his property so they jumped in and purchased Lucasfilm for merely 4 billion bucks ( Fox worth 52 billion - mind you ). Why? The possibilities are endless ( insert money sound here ) and now they have Fox ( which owned Alien and Predator )....i'm salivating for a cross universe mutant breeding orgy here.

Act 1 : How to put John Boyega.

How to tell a story in 2 hours and 30 mins? Lets put Finn unto an unnecessary journey. Lets create new characters ( new roles have new figure ) and it will contribute something to the annual sales report.

With Benicio Del Toro deep acting talent is totally wasted here, how on earth Finn, Benicio and Rose ended in the same cell? Hold on, jump cut to - Finn and Rose goes horseback riding, horse got their freedom and they go back and we still find out the Rebel ship still running away from Imperial Destroyers.

time doesnt exist here. Suspension of disbelief.....im chewing my overpaid popcorn.

Rian Johnson goes berserk here and what i love it is he doesnt romanticize everything, he go on - clearing away all those rebel/Imperial officers and that includes Ackbar and ever annoying Captain Phasma.

Cap Phasma is the lousiest ( go watch The Force Awakens and you know what i meant )

TLJ is a remixed - speed up version of ESB and Return of the Jedi. Love how whiny Kylo rips off Snoke. He did better than his grandpa as he waited for the right time to strike rather than his grandpa who was autistically hesitant for good 5 mins before chucking off Palpatine.

Leia goes flying like Starlord mode and yes making JJ and Disney having a huge headache on finding ways of HOW give her a closure in Episode 9?

The real reason why i go spend my hard earned time and money is too see Luke. Mind you, i got goosebumps seeing back Mark Hamill in the big screen. Through the years, he always goes for weird B or C grade characters like in the first Kingsman film.

After reading the script for the film, Mark Hamill told director Rian Johnson, "I pretty much fundamentally disagree with every choice you've made for this character [Luke Skywalker]. Now, having said that, I have gotten it off my chest, and my job now is to take what you've created and do my best to realize your vision."

Professional at its best, just listen to his voice when he talks to Rey and how he changes it when he saw Chewie and talks to Yoda. Cmon man....he is the Joker.

I straightened myself up my when Luke goes unto the Falcon, almost teared up when Luke and R2 reunited - yes waiting in anticipation when Luke decided that he needs to teach dumb ass nephew a lesson.

( by using his mental projection - Kylo gets more pissed than ever - which i like it ) - cut to Luke seeing the sun before joining ONE with the Force! But Rian.....cmon man you dont need to show Yoda getting more eccentric - doing a funny jig.

So Rian Johnson expanded the vocabs, application and meaning of the Force. So here we can see Kylo and Rey doing facetime. The force unites whatever that far and in between. Again concepts of time and space doesnt work. That is why Yoda gave Obi Wan tips on how he can communicate with Qui Gon in Episode 3.

Well come to think about it - Its practical.....you can sense something is right or wrong with the people who you really cared about, you know your mum is pissed.

Lets go back to Yoda - the real teacher who ACT rather than sembang ( talk, lecture or teach ) right? Luke was hesitant again of burning the tree, finally Yoda got bored and called the lightning. BOOM!!! Talking about Jedi books, apparently Rey took it all before Yoda burned everything down.

The issue problem is - where the hell Luke got it?

ah....screw it...Disney will publish a new book or a visual dictionary about this.

but what is lovely here is Luke and Yoda shared the disappointment as both of them lost all their students to the dark side.

The Last Jedi is all about burning the old bridge and creating a new narrative or legacy for the new fans. What is important is we need to know that we are getting older. So we need to move on. New jedi's, new anthologies.

Han is dead, now Luke and soon Leia.

Its been 40 freaking years when A New Hope was released and Episode 1 is released in 1999. My god....how time flies.

Just like how DC woke me and the rest of the world really HARD when they decide to kill off The All - Father Superman in 1992....we need to know that change is inevitable.

We need to face it. Sometimes justifications, elaborations or whatever is thrown out from the window, it can be inconsistent like Vader sabre skills in Rogue 1 and in A New Hope. He was rocking the entire ship but later he moves like an animated oak tree facing Obi Wan.
