GOTG : The Milano

again - after watching it back to back, i need to get my hands on The Milano. Peter Quill's a.k.a Starlord's rig named after his crush ( besides Heather Locklear ) Who's The Boss child actress and later Charmed's babe Alyssa Milano, this bird-like ship needs to be in my who's who of sci-fi collection.

Lego produced 2 versions of it. The sequel model is smaller than the first. A chinese company named Bela sneaked in, flood the market and gave us ( me ) joy.

The first Milano was released 2 years ago and hard to find as most stores told me that Bela no longer produced them - with my packed schedule and workload, i dont have time to do a reasonable built MOC. ( MOC stands for My Own Creation ),

Lo and behold - universe gave me one as i found one when i was back in Melaka. yehahhhh...i change the cockpit, windshield and adding more blasters and back wing flaps.





I cant find the right word for The Milano's design as it is pretty slick yet it has muscles at the same time....androgynous. So using the image, i just add what is needed.


The design of this Milano able to hold only Starlord, the sequel features a wider cockpit where we can see its piloted by Rocket and Starlord. Sometimes i really favour this sort of size as it can be displayed easily. Basically its 12 inch X 10 inch.


the designer did a remarkable job of getting the Milano's form right - using minimal bricks and Technic's parts for her wings.



Plus Milano's interior able to hold 3 minifigs inside too. Not bad.

The Final Lesson by Syed Ahmad Jamal

Intro This is will be a long note - edited again thoroughly. Before i begin, this writing will touch on an individual goes by the name of  Syed Ahmad Jamal ( our National Laureate ) who passed away on 2011 and DBKL - stands for Kuala Lumpur Municipal Council. My heart dropped when Syed Ahmad Jamal public sculpture entitled Puncak Purnama ( Lunar Peaks, 1986 ) was destroyed by the local KL municipal council DBKL few days back. DBKL stands for Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur - actually is quite notorious for a list of bad PR moves by cutting off trees, blocking the Pertiwi Soup Kitchen ( which been feeding the homeless ), their zealous traffic summons - but seriously they broke the camel's back by destroying the modernist, geometrical - clean cut sculpture. The Battle of Non Permission This sculpture was highlighted in  2010 as "someone" decided to pimp it up, changing it's appearance without Syed Ahmad Jamal's permission.This is how it looks like......
