Disney-fied
So we have another Force Friday - this time, focusing on Rogue 1 stuffs. Mind you, i realized the quality of the merchandise had dropped tremendously ( not the price though ). For the guys in the states, it's ok still as a figure just costs them 4 bucks. Not here in Malaysia ( and our pathetic conversion rates doesnt help too) making this hobby expensive.
A normal figure that costs around Ringgit Malaysia 50........no way man - i rather spend this sort of amount for a decent meal - rather than having a stiff - badly - sculpted mass produced figure. The figures released now are no longer articulated like the Hasbro/Kenner ones.
Take a look at the older versions of Fett - tons of articulation offered.
I kinda dig this.....
and now in 2016 - we have this instead....
a stiffy, static Fett. |
The U Wing. |
I call this lazy. Years back Hasbro took much effort in revitalizing Star Wars by revamping and giving us updated versions of these classical ships....especially this Luke's X-Wing where we got nifty buttons, rotating R2 and light up features and yes sound clips ( Obi Wan ) from the film - making me wanting it so so so hard and took couple of years to get it in a reasonable price.
and now, they serving us this horrible crappy stuffs ( mind you - again it's expensive ), the one that really annoyed me is this - a dwarfed - mis-matched - drugged out monstrosity Falcon.
What you guys are thinking man.....since when we have Falcon have a hidden cannon in her?

Anyway - i always love to see the positive side in this, all of these observations able to make me make a conscious decision to say NO - thus making me save more money than buying this. Its sad seeing a new brand of "fanboys" collecting these inflated/worthless jackasses.....May the Force be with your wallet ok!!! To all new fanboys - who happened/began to collect Star Wars - just refer to the brilliant http://www.rebelscum.com/# ( esp in their Photo Archives ) - compare and see the options we have then and NOW.
