After World War II, art
took a turn for the abstract, a movement that featured artists like
Jackson Pollock and Franz Kline. For normal person, these paintings were
strange and nonsensical, but art critics loved them.Noticing this
strange trend, Swedish journalist Åke “Dacke” Axelsson went to a local
zoo to find an artist. He found a 4 year old chimpanzee, provided him
with some oil paints and let him do whatever he wanted and renamed him -
Pierre Brassau. This is one of his "avant-garde" works - critics loved
it and found out the hoax.

"Pierre
Brassau paints with powerful strokes, but also with clear
determination. His brush strokes twist with furious fastidiousness.
Pierre is an artist who performs with the delicacy of a ballet dancer." -
