Whoever holds power in Iran is unlikely to sever economic ties with China entirely. The war – with or without China’s involvement – has seen a spike in oil and natural-gas prices.
In 2016, China and Iran signed a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" agreement. This partnership focuses on expanding bilateral cooperation across a large number of sectors, including energy, trade, infrastructure, and military ties.Best part China took steps to insulate itself from a shock disruption to energy imports by building a strategic national oil reserve while promoting electric vehicles to curb its reliance on oil consumption.
