The Land of Mediocrity

The creative arts "industry"

where to begin?

1. it can be disheartening, frustrating (honestly) when you have to deal, motivate or navigate yourself in a place where mediocrity thrives. The land filled with amateurish skill, opportunistic curators, predictable "artists", lame academics and related individuals glorifying their secondary talents and skills dressed in woolly words and fancy ass terms.

2. with their works or exhibits not bringing anything tangible, they will go attend annual townhouse dialogues to sniff for monetary aids and allowances.

3. Then we have institutions stuck in a unexplainable limbo where they keep on wasting resources, manpower and tax payer's hard earned money in the form of grant into questionable ( wasteful ) projects ( again where it doesn't generate any tangible outcomes and visible benefits )

4. while private collectors colluding, busy measuring their size of their dicks with their stagnant collection, misplaced confidence and wishful thinking that they can be curators too. Our audience again is the biggest loser as we are offered with the same generic brainless content. If you are lucky, you can spot the very same artists hanging out with them.

5. repeat this process in every two years sampai Abang Jamil mampus.

6. realized that there are new online publications on the arts but the articles featured are generic, tasteless like those Tom Yam stalls without any halal certificate. Nevermind, we need to give them a break as their editorial team doesn't have any budget or sponsors to hire anyone to write like the New York Times.
