Ethics

seriously, honestly it's unethical when you used someone's tragedy or someone's suffering as a material for your "art" work, performance or whatever you want to call it.  echo"ing" nonsense, a time wasting act.  it's not ignorant but it's insensitive and plain stupid.  you can still teach people of not being ignorant.  unless....... you completely analyzed t he suffering and the tragedy , digest it and put your understanding, perspective into it.  Expand the worldview.  Hello, the audience is not stupid and willing to spend time dealing with cringe, pretentious half baked wit and shit.

Of Mercedes, Sushi and Flood

Image
its hilarious knowing your people dealing with flood crisis, you are not in the country, enjoying sushi and Mount Fuji with your new wife. Just like way back in 2022, while the state dealing with the flood crisis, the leader are comfortable finding hobbits and Gandalf. At least i have to give credit to Jibby ( PM6 ) as he came back from his overseas trip ( and instruct ) other ministers to come back as the nation got hit with huge flood in 2014. Just one state in the East Coast is not receiving any foreign investments, they plundering every natural resources by uncontrolled logging ( in which these encouraging more flood crisis ). PM7 gave you a monetary cash aid. Rather than putting it to your people, you reward yourself with a brand new Mercedes and bonuses.     “Kita membeli Mercedes Benz kerana mementingkan keselamatan dan berdasarkan pengalaman , penyelenggaraan Mercedes Benz lebih jimat berbanding Proton Perdana yang sudah lama ,” katanya ketika ditemui di Pejabat DU...

The Land of Mediocrity

The creative arts "industry" where to begin? 1. it can be disheartening, frustrating (honestly) when you have to deal, motivate or navigate yourself in a place where mediocrity thrives. The land filled with amateurish skill, opportunistic curators, predictable "artists", lame academics and related individuals glorifying their secondary talents and skills dressed in woolly words and fancy ass terms.  2. with their works or exhibits not bringing anything tangible, they will go attend annual townhouse dialogues to sniff for monetary aids and allowances. 3. Then we have institutions stuck in a unexplainable limbo where they keep on wasting resources, manpower and tax payer's hard earned money in the form of grant into questionable ( wasteful ) projects ( again where it doesn't generate any tangible outcomes and visible benefits ) 4. while private collectors colluding, busy measuring their size of their dicks with their stagnant collection, misplaced confidence a...

Of Romancing the Poor and "Rabak" Bullshit

Image
yes, i'm quite skeptical when i face with works that deal with "social" issues. Bear in mind, social activism are fashionable where we have middle class turned to weekend activists - who fight a cause for poor or marginalized communities over the weekend and back in their comfort zone on Monday, ( comfortably snugged in their air conditioned condo and have Englsh breakfast and tea in Mont Kiara ) flooding their IG or social media with photos of them posing empathically with poor kids, supported with quotes of Mother Teresa or Gandhi, they hark over sentiments, injustice and yes systematically capitalizing on  romancing the poor. Just like this a photographer decides to do a series on orang asli villagers who don't get electricity in an exhibition. The "artist" aims to spread awareness. Konon...... Nevermind, most orang asal are acommodative, for sure they "know" the photographer's intention or maybe not. Or maybe they couldn't be b...
