Animals

it's extremely nice to go unto a digital detox, stay offline for days. The mind is clear, focused from rubbish happening around the world. Its been while i wrote about something but this - my man, i have to write about it.

Last year, a minister launched a logo to promote tourists to come to our country. When it comes to logo design - there are so many issues and complications to handle. Fonts, colors, lines and whatever is poured unto it. There will be arguments, endless comments and hours of justifications and artistic liberation and commitments involved.

we are now in the 21st century, where Tokyo soon will incorporate robots unto their Olympics, so when the former Tourism minister Nazri Aziz launched a logo with orang utan and a turtle with ray ban - the whole country blew their top.

First, few of my pals who works in the print industry told me that it was a nightmare to get the right color code and whatever fuck the gradient percentage is. But my gripe is the tagline which is travel, enjoy and respect. I dont know what it means and where it leads to.

The graphic designer have autistic tendencies too, where everything need to be proper when it comes to space and whatever shit involved. But then, all this was forgotten when the whole country gang up together and threw the old government away and elected new ones.

Just like getting a new job offer - the new job turned to a same old shit, better or worst ( you choose ), the new tourism minister assign a new logo - replacing the orang utan and the turtle. Lets take a look.

So we have the Kenyalang bird. No need to focus on the Semenanjung animals, lets see the Borneo archipelago animals. No more sunglasses - check. I dont have any issues with Sabah and Sarawak states as they are cooler and acceptable.

Plus the bird is one out 14 types of bird protected in Sarawak and Indonesia

But the issue is, why the fuck we need animals in a freaking logo? Is there a need? The oil palm industry already did so much fucking damage to them, nobody visit our national zoo - and guess what it costs MYR45 for an adult ticket, an artist kept a fucking sun bear in her apartment, our last male Sumatran rhinoceros passed away and now we have a tiger roaming in Terengganu.

Its fucking ironic as we love to promote or show something that we dont do and practice.

Lets see what we did so far to the animals shall we.
