No Prize Award

This 95 year old gave generations a space to zoned out and reading something. Creating a daft multi-layered universe where we can spend time arguing about The Shocker, why on earth Green Goblin had so much hatred on Peter, why Punisher came out at the first place in the dinner table, campfire and every where else.

Hell - i even learn many fancy words and dig out the dictionary to find out how this word works. Visual is king, but in later years, visual lost its strength to a beautiful plot, but my heart and fingers aches - caressing the lines drawn by Buscema, bold macho lines of Kirby, John Romita Sr and of course the fluid Ditko.

Pencillers represents the generation gap, in the 90's we got ugly steroid pumped Liefeld lines before Mcfarlane's morbid unbelievable morphic Spidey jumped at us. Not forgetting those perfect pencils of Jim Lee. Disney bought Marvel and pretty soon we are justified as B - heroes got an A star treatment in the big screen after all major Marvel act been treated harshly by 20th Century Fox. ( except Jessica Alba and the first two Raimi's Spidey )

Anyway Stan The Man, the guy who started out worked in his cousin's publication, added realism and grounded reality to be in touch with the readers, ever growing readers and ultimately winning back skepticism in me.

go get this in Big Bad Wolf.
what is important is Stan added some personal touch like this.

The Marvel No-Prize is a fake award given out by Marvel Comics to readers. The No-Prize had been intended as a reminder for Marvel readers to "lighten up" and read comics for pleasure rather than for prizes, or at least the thrill of being recognized for their efforts.

Now people "slab" their books.

and what strikes me until today is he signed off with “Excelsior!”—a Latin word meaning “ever upward.”

Rest well Stan, say hello to my dad in heaven will ya.
