Pointing Fingers

Tun M mentioned that the arts were an important element that DETERMINE the standard of a country's civilization.

"Artists" will blame the "society" for not "understanding" their arts, while society tak paham them. So everything resort to funding what sort. How you can inspire others when you cant even manage/produce/market your work at the first place.

When people funds you - every funder needs some ROI. Artists lamented they cant sell their work or nobody wants to buy them - well reality check - nasi lemak sellers cant sell when its not delicious. Its all about the quality and the support system that is needed to encourage a healthy eco-system. When artist all of sudden wants to be a curator or worst becoming a lower level critic ala Greenberg - NOW that is where everything go wrong.

when people fund you or any of your project - you need some tact and diplomacy, at times people can be angry with the producers. Go figure!!!! Its easy when you spend other people's money.

KNOW your freaking ROLE and where you stand. Only here, we can have self taught artists demeaning/criticizing academics. Its like the lighting assistant giving comment to the director. Self proclamation disease - drawing mandala motifs generating 1000 likes instantly turn you to be an accreditated artist.

This is extremely hilarious and unacceptable.

Semua sembang lebih. Talking about the society - Drive tak bukak turn signal, cutting queue, double park and so on, and you ask them to buy your work? Asking them to appreciate poetry till 1am while they have kid to feed and get up at 8am for the rat race.

So rather than blaming everyone, kindly reflect la thru Maslow Hierarchy ok.

KNOW your FREAKING ROLE.
