Content is King

Local TV station or film producers - you need to take a real good reflection of yourself, we have so many directors, skilled technical professionals here - the problem is the content. See how Netflix came out from nowhere and now - they are distributing original content via internet streaming.

even though Nolan criticized Netflix distribution model, where their products available for laptop and small screen. I dont find any issue in it. Bear in - mind, if i want to see something in the cinema, it would cost me 20 Ringgit, plus pop-corn, parking and all the jazz ( totaled up to RM50 ), imagine bringing someone or a family.

Its getting costly. That is why until now i cherished my time viewing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 in the big screen.

RM25 bucks vs the experience of me tearing up seeing Yondu died = priceless.

talking about Nolan, the American Hollywood complex mechanism gave the British film-maker complete trust and balls for him to shake up Batman and coming out with new original narratives. They took an unknown risk, like how Marvel took a gamble with RDJ, Jon Favreau, The Russo brothers and yes James Gunn and the A-Holes.

Audience is intelligent enough to choose what they want.

Like HBO - Netflix came out with a huge gamble with original TV series, notably Stranger Things, entertain us with gritty Marvel renditions and now branching out to feature film materials  - funding Martin Scorcese, got all the biggest names for the Irish and Will Smith in Bright.

The democratic internet culture gave us so much materials to view.

so what im saying here is to local TV station, producers and etc - revitalize your content, do a solid homework la and most importantly - respect audience's intelligent and the same time - get a pair balls of steel. Without this, we dont have new engaging showrunners, Tarantino and Edgar Wright.

Im sick and tired of reading audience's amateur criticism, comments towards your local telemovies, drama and feature films. Here we still have people still arguing what is plot and what is script, endless annual documentary and mak-nenek related workshop and the government not giving enough fund for creativity.

Lawak la.....

anyway take a look at the excellent Stranger Things Season 2 trailer, i dont know how much Netflix forked out to get MJ's Thriller - gave me goosebumps.
