Film Lesson Notes No 1 : Pre - Production
Most people ( producers ) here dont understand completely the process called Pre-Production. These scumbags thought the script is film-able as soon the writers completed their script. They are nuts, sometimes egoistic for their own good and the best, pretend to know about everything.
Why story-boarding is important? Its a first step of everything, the first treatment/filtering what is need to shoot. Im fortunate that im trained in the fine arts, where i learn drawing skills. So most of the time, my shoot can be efficient - getting the shots i wanted.
Plus you guys can use the storyboard to guide you during checklist of shots of the day and the offline editing process.
So guys, invest some time in this process, it's IMPORTANT coz this process can save you tons of money and TIME. You cant quantify TIME.
Secondly my production team able to see what they going to do, most of the time - they will know how to get the shots i wanted after seeing them, but the best is, they will give me options.
1. identifying the stuffs needed for the shoot
2. The DOP ( Director of Photography ) knows what sort of angles. lens needed
3. The Line Producers knows what to get, scout and etc
4. the Art Directors knows what to before and do on the set
Most directors dont know how to draw, but do get someone whom can translate your ideas on paper,i agree - but here is not Hollywood, where the unions took care of everything. Here we need to do everything. if you guys have no money, then ask humbly and credit them after you guys done the shoot. Appreciate them please!!!
